Eddie Jordan recommends a change of team for the Mercedes driver by sending a clear message: “Formula 1 needs Hamilton in a Ferrari”.
There has been speculation about Lewis Hamilton’s future in Formula 1 for a long time. And the latest rumours have it that Mercedes, despite all its ambitions, can no longer keep up with the absolute top teams therefore the British driver has been increasingly linked with a switch to Scuderia Ferrari.
Jordan: Ferrari are the only alternative
Former F1 team boss Eddie Jordan has now spoken out clearly on Hamilton’s future and made a statement about such rumours.
After years of dominance, Mercedes is currently only trailing behind in Formula 1. Record champion Lewis Hamilton, who won six of his seven world championship titles with the German team, had to watch last year how Ferrari, not his team, fought a duel with the dominant Red Bull.

For former Formula 1 team boss Eddie Jordan, one thing is certain: Hamilton absolutely has to change racing teams – for his own good and for the good of the pinnacle of motor sport.
And Jordan already has concrete ideas.
“Formula 1 needs Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari and Ferrari needs Lewis Hamilton,” the 74-year-old told the betting portal OLBG.

Eddie Jordan predictions
Jordan has quite the reputation for making accurate predictions about the future of Formula One, could this be one of them?
In the past, Jordan has failed in a few predictions, such as Mercedes selling up in 2018, and VW buying out Red Bull. But in other cases, he’s been accurate in some (at the time) wild stories coming true.
One such claim in 2009 being that Michael Schumacher — who had retired in 2006 as a seven-time world champion — would return the following year with Brawn GP, who were to be re-branded as Mercedes.
The German had nearly returned that year with Ferrari in place of the injured Felipe Massa, only for a lingering neck injury to scupper that plan. Having had his passion for F1 reignited, Schumacher returned with the German manufacturer as Nico Rosberg’s partner in 2010, just as Jordan predicted.
Eddie Jordan then caused a stir ahead of the 2012 Italian Grand Prix while working for the BBC, boldly predicting Lewis Hamilton would end his life-long affiliation with McLaren and move to Mercedes.
At the time, it seemed an outlandish suggestion — Mercedes was a step down the grid for the British driver and most experts speculated the 2008 world champion had made a big mistake. The rest is history as Hamilton timed his move just before the new hybrid engine rules came into force and the Mercedes team dominated for the best part of a decade.
“He should look for another team”
Back to the present, if Jordan thinks this is Hamiltons’ best move in Formula 1, could it be only a matter of time before we see the veteran in red?
Although Hamilton has recently committed himself to Mercedes despite all the problems and work is being done to get him to extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season, Jordan’s advice is clear:
“He should look for another team that wins the championship.”

It will be great if Hamilton declines the MB contract and Norris moves in there.
It will be a chance for Leclerc to show Ham up for the hollow talent he is and wipe the floor with him. After one unsuccessful year with Ferrari, Hamilton should go to Williams en route to retirement. What can be a better end to a career of fake victories?
There is only one move that can save F1 from a decade of boredom and that’s..Max to Ferrari. Lewis, with all respect, is at the end of his career, has no juice to begin this journey..
