Verstappen exit clause revealed

For some, perhaps Red Bull’s revelation can be seen as a positive for Verstappen’s future, after all, it was an intrinsic part of securing the Dutchmans’ signature; Max Verstappen extended his deal with Red Bull before the start of the season and is now committed to the team until 2028, but the Dutchman has an exit clause, as revealed by Helmut Marko.

Last year’s champion, Max Verstappen did not keep everyone in suspense about his future too long. Before the start of the new season, the Dutchman made his extension with Red Bull official, allowing him to extend his deal until 2028 with an XXL salary.

“When you have fun with the people you work with, which is my case, why change? I believe in the project as a whole, in what’s going to happen, I enjoy working with everyone in the team and I’m having a great time, so it was a pretty easy decision in the end,” Verstappen said.

Red Bull can therefore be confident about the future of its star, but he does have an exit clause as revealed by Helmut Marko.

“If Red Bull has some kind of ‘accident’, like in 2014, there is obviously an exit clause

Red Bull consultant Helmut Marko confirmed that Max Verstappen is free to leave the team if his team performs badly in the future.

“If Red Bull has some kind of ‘accident’, like in 2014, there is obviously an exit clause,” he explains.

“Max is an important asset. So it was important for Red Bull to be able to say that we have the best driver in our team until 2028. If you have someone like Max in the ranks, it has a positive effect on the rest of the team and the team’s partners.”
