The former team boss of Renault F1 and Benetton assures that he is doing very well, despite the not very reassuring information coming from Italy on Tuesday.
Flavio Briatore denied testing positive for COVID-19, the Italian assures that he was hospitalised with a prostate infection.
On Tuesday, Italian media – including Espresso – claimed that Flavio Briatore was admitted to hospital Monday night after contracting the COVID-19 virus and was in a condition deemed “serious”.
But on Wednesday, Corriere Della Sera published an interview with Flavio Briatore in which the former director of Renault F1 and Benetton assures that he is not infected with COVID-19, and the media were wrong, in affect ‘lying’ about his condition.
” COVID? I feel fine, I just have an acute prostatitis. ” says Briatore.
“Sunday night I went to San Raffaele Hospital in Milan and they admitted me.
“It’s just inflammation of the prostate, nothing more. I feel fine. Since I’ve been here, I’ve been tested [for COVID], but I still don’t have the results. ” claims the Italian.
In recent days, Briatore had become the protagonist of a very harsh controversy against the government and its planned measures to combat the Coronavirus, including the closure of nightlife venues, including its “Billionaire” club in Sardinia – which has become a veritable epidemic hotbed with no less than 60 employees testing positive for COVID-19.
In addition, Briatore also took part in a football match with other VIPs on 15th August at the Hotel Cala di Volpe in Porto Cervo: among them also the Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, who in recent days tested positive for COVID-19.
