Jos Verstappen should have appeared on a talk show of the Dutch TV channel “Ziggo Sport” on Monday evening. The interview was, of course, cancelled due to the circumstances.
Instead, a short statement by Max Verstappen was read out: “Joy and grief often lie close together”, the Red Bull driver had the presenter of the show announce to the public.
Frans Verstappen ran an ice cream parlour in Montford and was an ardent fan of his grandson until the end. He regularly organised public viewings of the Formula 1 races near his restaurant.
During Verstappen victories, free beer or ice cream was served. Tragic news indeed and TJ13 wishes to express condolences to the Verstappen family.
