McLaren officially parts ways with Capito.

The rumors, that emerged after McLaren’s sacking of Ron Dennis, finally came true. As of today CEO Jost Capito won’t be working together with the McLaren F1 team. The former head of Volkswagen’s motorsport joined McLaren only months ago.

Capito was signed by Dennis himself, as one of the last acts by the latter. And with the news of Dennis being forced out at Mclaren, many believed Capito’s faith was in the hands of the new no.1 at Mclaren, Zak Brown. Capito, who has been at at the Woking outfit for just five months, had previously won 4 titles in the World Rally Championship. For both the VW team and Sebastien Ogier.

Now it seems that Brown and Capito didn’t find enough common ground as to how they should bring McLaren back to the top. At the moment it is unclear whether Mclaren will be searching for a replacement or if it will spread Capito’s responsibilities between Eric Boullier and Jonathan Neale.
