Alpha Tauri reveals its 2023 F1 livery

Alpha Tauri became the fifth team on the grid to unveil its new colours for the 2023 season with the presentation of the livery of the AT04 car that will be driven by Nyck de Vries and Yuki Tsunoda.

The AlphaTauri team presented the livery of its 2023 single-seater, which will be driven this year by Dutchman Nyck de Vries and Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda, from New York on Saturday 11 February.

As expected, the 2023 Alpha Tauri livery is very similar to last season’s, with the logo of the team’s new partner, Orlen, appearing on the rear wing, the Halo and on the lower side rails and mirrors.

Another small detail seen on this livery is that the Honda logo is once again displayed on the engine cover, whereas last year only the HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) logo was present on the Italian team’s car.

The team has only released digital renderings of the 2023 car, so we’ll have to wait until the winter test, scheduled for February 23-25, to see the AT04 for real and to be able to analyse all the new features introduced on this F1 car.

Speaking at the presentation of the AT04 livery, team headmaster Franz Tost said of the upcoming season, “I think the whole grid will be much closer together.”

“Of course, the big three teams still have an advantage from their infrastructure, from the personnel side, but I’m pretty convinced that in 2023 the cars will be much more balanced.”

“Also, while [Max] Verstappen won the championship quite early in the season last year, I don’t expect any driver to have such a big advantage this year and win so early.”

“I think it will become a battle that will last until the end of the season. That’s what the fans, the spectators and all of us want to see.”

As a reminder, last year the AlphaTauri team finished second to last in the constructors’ world championship with 35 points scored, two behind the Haas team. The small Italian team will therefore be looking to do better this season.
