A new boss for Spa

The Board of Directors of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, home of the Belgian Grand Prix F1 race, has appointed Amaury Bertholomé as the new General Manager of the company. He succeeds Nathalie Maillet, who passed away last year.

This appointment follows a recruitment process conducted by a selection panel, itself supported by a recruitment agency specialising in the selection of executive profiles.

The Belgian circuit is currently undergoing a major investment plan as part of its strategy to obtain the double FIA/FIM homologation that will allow the return of motorbikes endurance racing to Spa-Francorchamps, and the improvement of spectator facilities.

The new director, Amaury Bertholomé, will take up his post on the 14th February 2022:

“I am very happy to participate in the development of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, which is a strong economic, sporting, tourist and identity tool for our region,” said Bertholomé.

“The economic development of Wallonia depends in particular on sites of excellence that ensure its influence. The ambitious strategy undertaken at the circuit over the last few years enables it to remain on the map of the essential motor sports circuits, hosting the finest world competitions, while preserving its accessibility for the benefit of its local public. I look forward to continuing the implementation of this strategy with the team in place, which is very committed and mobilised, and to amplifying it on an environmental level.”

The 2022 Belgian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on the Spa-Francorchamps track from the 26th to the 28th August.
