Hamilton, Maradona… Toto Wolff’s gigantic rant

While Lewis Hamilton lost the world Formula 1 championship title to Max Verstappen, Toto Wolff at Mercedes AMG F1 is still not happy.

Wolff and his team are unhappy with the course of events in Abu Dhabi that led to Lewis Hamilton’s defeat. And although the team’s appeal has been withdrawn, the anger is still there. While Max Verstappen was crowned 2021 world champion, Toto Wolff believes the title was stolen from Hamilton.

And in an interview with Bild, the Mercedes boss went on a rant, not hesitating to compare this event to two other big controversies in the sport.

“Lewis and I are still completely unhappy”

“It’s definitely on a par with Diego Maradona’s hand of God or the 1966 Wembley goal. An inconsistent decision by the race director took the title away from Lewis.

“Lewis and I are still completely unhappy. My heart and soul still weep from every pore. When the principles of sport are flouted and the stopwatch is worthless, you start to wonder if all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears are worth it,” Toto Wolff said of Lewis Hamilton’s loss.

  1. If Wolff is hoping Daimler sell out their shares to him and Ineos, he going about it the right way. It’s getting very close to the point where either Daimler cut Wolff down to size or they sell out and remain in F1 solely as engine suppliers. My hunch is they sell out.

  2. You know, there’s plenty of other stuff that’s happened in the world of F1 since the last lap, but the only thing that this “Judge” has reported on is this…. yes it was cataclysmic, but really? Its almost as if its being used as some sort of vindication of someone’s own personal feelings towards Lewis, Totp and the team….

“YES, now I’ve got something that I can continually rant about”

This site should just come out for the hate site that it is and change its name…
