Fernando Alonso’s strong message before Bahrain

This Sunday, Fernando Alonso will make his big return to Formula 1. And the Spaniard says he is highly motivated for his first season since 2018.

The year 2021 will see the return of Fernando Alonso to Formula 1. After his last Grand Prix at the end of 2018, the Spaniard flew off to other horizons. But at 39, the former McLaren man, feeling in the best shape of his career, preferred to return to where it all began in motorsport for him.

Alonso has signed up with Alpine, formerly Renault. And despite his advanced age, he wants to prove that he can still give a lot in Formula 1. As he takes part in his first race this Sunday at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Alonso is looking forward to his first laps in two years.

“I’m really looking forward to the whole weekend.

“This moment has required a lot of preparation, not only with the team during the tests and the work carried out this winter in the two factories, but also on a personal level.

“Since I agreed to join the Alpine F1 Team, I have put a lot of effort into preparing myself physically and mentally for this season. I have learned a lot during my time away, especially about the different styles of racing, but I am now back in Formula 1 and extremely motivated for this challenging season.

“It was fun to be back behind the wheel of an F1 car in testing, but I’m now looking forward to the race. ”
