Haas boss hints that Ferrari power is back to where it was

Last Updated on March 9 2021, 11:04 pm

Haas is one of the F1 teams that will change its car the least compared to 2020, yet team principal Gunther Steiner said he is optimistic that it will do well and the car will be further up the grid again, trusting in the power of the new Ferrari engine.

This is news that will put a smile on the faces of Prancing Horse fans, considering that much of Maranello’s fortunes will depend on the strength of the new power unit.

Indeed, rumour had it that Ferrari had been somewhat ‘artificially’ handicapped last year as a punishment for alledged ‘cheating’ in 2019; an illegal, but unproven, power advantage. READ MORE ON THAT STORY HERE

“Ferrari has taken a big step forward. I haven’t seen any figures yet, we’ll have to find out in Bahrain, but it seems that the improvement is clear and now all that’s left to do is turn this potential into concrete results,”
Steiner told Formula 1’s official website.

“The team likes working with our young drivers who have adapted quickly and bring enthusiasm. They also like the team because it is a family environment.

“No negative aspects have emerged yet, and in any case I will always make sure that the positive ones prevail in the team”.
