This Tuesday, the Alpine team will unveil its car for the 2021 season and if Frenchman Esteban Ocon will be present during this launch, Fernando Alonso won’t be.
Last Friday, the Alpine team stated that the two-time world champion would not be able to attend the presentation of the A521 this Tuesday, March 2nd due to travel restrictions caused by the ongoing health crisis.
And while our friend @alo_oficial can’t physically be with us, rest assured he is paying close attention!

However, behind the scenes it is said that the double world champion will not be in attendance for the launch of the new Alpine this Tuesday to allow him to recover from his bicycle accident that occurred a few days ago in Switzerland, but the main interested party assures that his absence is only due to the travel restrictions.
“Hello everybody! As you know, I won’t be able to be present at the team presentation in the UK on Tuesday. ” Alonso explains in a video posted on social networks.
“It’s a bit difficult to travel between Switzerland and the UK with the covid restrictions but of course I’ll follow it virtually like everyone else, it’s not a big deal if you’re not there physically.
“I can’t wait to present the car, the new colours, the new combinations, I’m very excited. I look forward to seeing you soon! ”
The Spanish driver will not appear with his team until the 2021 winter tests, which will be held from 12th to 14th March in Bahrain.
