Fernando Alonso is expected to make his debut with Renault F1 next week as part of a filming day at the Barcelona circuit.
The double world champion – who will make his big comeback in Formula 1 next season with the Alpine F1 Team [Renault team in 2021] – should be at the wheel of the RS20 next Tuesday in Barcelona according to leaked information from Spanish television Movistar and for which Renault has not yet confirmed.
The Spanish driver has already moulded his seat a few days ago during his visit to Enstone and Viry-Châtillon and should therefore cover a maximum of 100 kilometres at the wheel of this season’s car, the RS20, on this filming day [authorised by the FIA].
Also according to Movistar, Renault F1 also organised a half-day of driving for Fernando Alonso at the wheel of a two-year-old car, the RS18.
Fernando Alonso will join the Alpine F1 Team next year and will become the team mate of Frenchman Esteban Ocon as a direct replacement for Daniel Ricciardo, who will join the McLaren team.
