Free F1 race weekend via official YouTube Channel

For the first time in history, fans in some European markets will have the opportunity to watch a F1 Grand Prix for free on YouTube – including free practice sessions and qualifying.

Formula One has chosen to broadcast the entire Eifel Grand Prix at the Nürburgring circuit in Germany free of charge over the weekend of October 9th to 11th, 2020.

Fans will be able to watch the race live and free of charge in seven European markets including Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The agreement between F1 and YouTube also includes session summaries and analysis.

“We are delighted to be working with YouTube on such an exciting project. As we continue to diversify our media distribution strategy and expand our offering,

“it is imperative that we engage fans who consume media differently and YouTube provides us with the platform to do just that. ” says Adam Crothers, head of digital media rights at Formula One.

“Our partnership with YouTube also allows us to continue our search for new audiences and new ways to grow the F1 fan base while continuing to innovate our media offering for new and existing fans. ”

Broadcasting of the Eifel Grand Prix will begin on Friday, October 9th on the Formula 1 YouTube channel.
