Should Hypersoft be gone from F1 after Canada?

Pirelli to decide future of Hypersoft after Canadian Grand Prix.

2018 saw the introduction of a new compound which is christened as ‘Hypersoft’. This compound was made available from Monaco Grand Prix. The compound was preferred choice of teams in qualifying.

Notwithstanding the performance teams extracted from the Pink tyre in Monaco, its future depends on how it performs in Montreal owing to the unique nature of the circuit.

Pirelli F1 boss Mario Isola told Motorsport.com, “It is important for us to understand the behaviour of the hyper in Canada.”

“That will drive the choice for some other races later in the season.

“Every time you run a tyre you learn something. Now we have knowledge of the hypersoft in a circuit that’s not Abu Dhabi or Barcelona, where we already tested.

“But Monte Carlo is quite a difficult circuit. It’s not so wrong to take conclusions, but we need to collect more information.

“Canada is a different track, it’s more about traction for example, so we need to understand how is the degradation from the rear, rather than the front.”

While Pirelli will take a decision after it collects data, let us know in the comment section what do you think? Should Pirelli retain Hypersoft for rest of the season?
