Irish bookies offer up a £1m charity fight Vettel V’s Hamilton.

taleoftrackv3-1024x853Paddy Power the Dublin based bookmaker founded in 1988 has offered a £1,000,000 prize fight to settle the Vettel / Hamilton road rage incident. In a statement on their news site the company posted:

“If he wants to prove he is a man, we should do it out of the car, face-to-face”, said a ballsy Lewis Hamilton, after his on-track handbags with F1 title rival Sebastian Vettel at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix yesterday.”

They continued:

“F*ck it, I’d pay to see that’, said Paddy when he finally got in to the office this morning. And so two hours later, we’ve got the boss revved up to sign off and we’ve put our money where our mouth is – a £1m boxing bout between the pair, winner takes all – for charity”

The fisticuffs between the two began when Vettel accused Hamilton of “brake-testing” him ahead of a safety car restart on lap 19 and proceeded to drive into the back of the Brit’s Mercedes.

TJ13 reported yesterday the fallout from the “Battle in Baku” on lap 19 where Vettel accused Hamilton of “brake testing” him before the safety car restart which resulted in Vettel ramming Lewis’ car twice. Once as he was taken unawares, and again a few seconds later in an apparent fit of rage.

The bookmaker went on to say:

“Surprisingly, despite Hamilton recently taking up Thai boxing, our traders make Vettel an Anthony Joshua sized shot at 1/10 to have his hand raised in victory, should the fight take place.

Hamilton, who sits 14 points behind Vettel in the F1 Drivers Championship, is a 5/1 underdog for the potential match-up and whopping 14/1 to land a knockout blow on the Ferrari driver.”

“Vettel is in the driving seat to win the fight, but I do think it’s really important to set some ground rules beforehand – boxing with them helmets would be no fun at all.”

TJ13 understands, that in the hugely unlikely event that the charity fight ever gets traction Paddy Power wish it to be promoted as “The tale of the track”

The odds are quoted as:

LEWIS HAMILTON V SEBASTIAN VETTEL – CHARITY BOXING MATCH ODDS

Vettel win – 1/10
Hamilton win – 5/1

METHOD OF VICTORY

Vettel on points – 4/6
Vettel by KO – 9/4
Hamilton on points – 9/1
Hamilton on KO – 14/1

  2. Float like a butterfly, sting like a flea. The only way Ham wins is if he gets to bring his purse into the ring.
I say duel it out in a best of 5 karting race.
