Perex at Hungaroring 2014

Sergio Perez had a dramatic accident at the Hungaroring in FP1 this morning. His Force India car’s suspension failed and the Mexican spun out of 11 and then his car rolled.

Sergio was shaken by the incident today, but reported: “Thanks to God, everything is OK. I lost the rest and went into the wall. On the Astroturf, it is very slippery. The car is quite badly damaged but hopefully we can recover and do a bit of second practice. I hope we can recover from this.”

The car was badly damaged and will not be ready for FP2 though Perez is relatively unscathed

Force India are though investigating the reason for the failure and may yet decide to pull Nico Hulkneberg’s car from FP2.

The 2014 Hungarian GP was not kind to Force India, as both drivers retired from the race. Nico Hulkenberg’s misjudged an overtaking move on his teammate before spinning into the wall.  The Mexican then spun out the final corner later in the race.
