Welcome to another week of TheJudge13 #F1 Bar Exam.
Last Week’s Question(s): Can you name the constructor and the model of the car below. Can you also name all the drivers that drove the car and the total amount of constructors points scored by this model, obviously driven by the drivers.
The answer(s) I was looking for were: The constructor was Arrows and the model the A8 which was raced in 1985 and 1986. The car was driven by Gerhard Berger, Thierry Boutsen, Marc Surer and Christian Danner. In the 32 races the car competed in it only scored a total of 15 points, 14 in 1985 courtesy a podium finish for Thierry Boutsen at Imola where he placed 3rd but was later moved to 2nd when winner Alain Prost’s McLaren was disqualified for being underweight.
The other point came for a 6th placed finish by Christian Danner the following year.
The major issues Arrows had was that they lacked the power of the same BMW engines powering the Brabham and later Benetton teams as those particular engines were continually maintained by BMW, giving them access to new parts, information and factory backed development
Well done to Mike, Carlo, Cav, AJ, Dave and Simon!
