De Vries swap with Norris

Dutchman Nyck de Vries is available to the McLaren Formula 1 team as a possible replacement for Brit Lando Norris this weekend in Brazil…if needed.

Lando Norris had to skip the media day at Interlagos on Thursday and stayed in his hotel room due to probable food poisoning according to his team. Although McLaren expects Norris to return to the track on Friday for the first free practice session of the Brazilian Grand Prix, the Woking-based team has begun to prepare Nyck de Vries for the eventuality that Norris will not be available.

De Vries – who is at Interlagos as a reserve for the Aston Martin and Mercedes teams – will be loaned to McLaren if the British team needs a reserve driver this weekend. The Dutchman – who will be a starter for AlphaTauri next year – has already been able to drive for Aston Martin, Mercedes, Williams and even Alpine in a private test in Budapest this summer.

If De Vries is called up by McLaren this weekend, it will be the fifth car on the grid that he has driven so far this year. Dutchman Nyck de Vries is available to the McLaren team as a possible replacement for Briton Lando Norris this weekend in Brazil…if required.

  1. When y’all leave a rating at the top, what is it for? Quality of the article, relevance, punctuation?!? Just curious as I always hit 5 stars just because I appreciate it being here to read. What about anyone else?
