Carlos Sainz Jr was disappointed with his result in the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday and was very angry with himself. The Spaniard is angry at his mistakes, which cost him several positions in the standings.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix was not a great success for everyone on Sunday. Between Lance Stroll’s accident, Max Verstappen’s accident and Lewis Hamilton’s mistake, the Baku circuit did not make everyone happy.
Among them, Carlos Sainz Jr. The Spaniard finished in eighth place. Although he enabled Ferrari to gain a few points in the constructors’ standings, the 26-year-old driver was clearly not satisfied with his result.
Having misjudged the grip of his tyres in a corner, the former McLaren driver lost a few precious seconds. And he has only himself to blame.
“I am very angry with myself. ” admits Sainz,
“Once again I didn’t manage to put everything together during the whole weekend. I suffered a lot with the tyres, both after the restart behind the Safety Car and at the second start where I had difficulties to warm up the front tyres.
“I had a lot of blockages at the front and that cost me a lot of positions. ”
