Alonso Championship comeback today at Abu Dhabi

The double Formula 1 world champion, Fernando Alonso, was able to take to the track this Friday in Abu Dhabi at the wheel of the Renault R25 with which he won his first world title in 2005.

The Spaniard – who will make his return to Renault F1 in 2021 – will take part in two other exhibitions between now and the end of the weekend on the Yas Marina track.

This Friday, the double world champion was able to complete five laps at the wheel of the R25 equipped for the occasion with Pirelli GP2 tyres and his lap time was six seconds slower than the best time set by Max Verstappen this morning in EL1 (1.37.378).

Regardless of the performance, the most important part of this drive is to share with young people who have not experienced the noise of V10 engines, music to the ears of those in the know…
