3 That is only because Bottas showed he is developing a killer instinct if he hopes to stay at M-B past 2018. And the best way to improve this race would be to turn off the lights…………
I do not feel passes are the ultimate decision as to if a race is worthy. but it does help. I voted this race as a 4, but could not go above a 5.5 even if we had seen passes all up and down the field!! a yawn fest for sure!
next year, I see the field as Merc, Ferrari, Red Bull, McLaren, Renault with the last 5 begging to get the hell outta dodge b4 2019
Well, Yas Marina didn’t disappoint in one aspect – it was just as horribly bad as I expected and like all other F1 races here were in the past. Having a beautiful building within the track limits doesn’t make a track interesting nor it does anything for the race itself. This is one of the very few races in a year when I simply don’t bother watching the live transmission, I just record it and go through it in 10-15 minutes just to make sure I didn’t miss anything remotely interesting. People that say oval races are boring should compare one like that to the “sheer excitement” in Abu Dhabi…
here in the US and Canada, we got some BADDASS racetracks. Watkins Glen, Road America, Mosport, Mt Tremblant, Cleveland Burke Lakefront!! these r nearly equal to Nurburgring, Spa, Silversone, Monza, etc..
https://polldaddy.com/js/rating/rating.jsbut there is NO money here from the Rolex crowd. Liberty could care less about the history of F1. pay me money or fuck off is their mantra…
And none of them will give Liberty $40M a year for a race………
I can’t believe it has taken this many years for widespread criticism to finally be heard.
Holding the “finale” here has been damaging the sport.
If we have to keep it maybe move it to near the start of the season so it doesn’t feel like it matters as much. And please put a track that is exciting for race fans as the finale location!
I agree, but the next question is where would be a good replacement considering the climate?
An entirely unexciting procession/race. Season finale needs to be at Interlagos or Suzuka where there is a good possibility of inclement weather adding to the mix.
Abu Dhabi should coincide with Bahrain GP but that makes too much sense for the schedule makers.
An unattractive snorefest. Anti-F1.
https://polldaddy.com/js/rating/rating.jsHad to see the race on my vcr.
Fastforward tot the end.

https://polldaddy.com/js/rating/rating.jsI like, and will watch just about any type of racing, but for sheer excitement the 77th USAC Turkey Night Grand Prix midget race at Ventura Raceway was possibly one of the best I’ve ever seen.
