Hamilton got my vote. There’s a chance he may have nailed Gigi… Oh, and he was very quick, nailing Q3, nailing the start, building a gap and maintaining it. Given it’s unclear who made the call to come in, or who forced it and how it transpired, Hamilton for me is DotW.

i gave ricciardo the DOD as he was able to light things up over the last ten laps and his pass on raikonnen was audacious but great to watch. he also gave us the fastest race lap trying to chase down hamilton who has what is a vastly superior car. all good stuff.

To be sincere he was so bad that he was actually good, like those cheap movies.
I’m not sure who’s going to win this poll, but I want to give the Encouragement Award to Lewis for making F1 far more interesting than it might be otherwise.
Hamilton’s overt displays of emotion are a rarity in a sport that is notionally filled with stoic, ‘real’ men whose outward expressions rarely stray from being far more neutral and under control. If you’re a ‘real’ man you can be happy if you win and you can be angry and want to belt someone after an incident. Oh, and you’re allowed to be sarcastic on the radio. But that’s it.
The unfathomably crazy devotion of Lewis’ fans and their he-can-do-no-wrong reactions to every comment ever made about him add a lot of energy to the major lull in the ‘racing’ part of the sport that’s been going on for a while now.
Fact is, when Lewis does the petulant teenager thing like post-race yesterday I want to give him a teaspoon and a bag of cement but I know that not everyone is wired the same way. The world would be pretty boring if we were.

Quite clearly we’re dealing with yet another Dutch invasion, with ATM 70% going to Mad Max (who incidentally is sorta kinda almost partly Belgian)… 🙂
I guess there is a good amount of irony behind most of those votes.
The last time there was a major invasion of any kind by the Dutch was 1873 in Indonesia.

It’s easy to stand outside the car and be critical of HAM reaction. But if you consider the prestige of Monaco, the effort it took all weekend, how close he was to the end… Then it’s understandable and I doubt if any other driver would have shrugged it off. He got my view for the way he dominated his teammate
Max made me wanna watch F1 again after a couple of boaring seasons!
I voted for Sainz. Great performance in the STR and finishing 10th after starting from the pit lane. If Max had not made the mistake of crashing into Grosjean, he would have gotten my vote purely on the basis of how he overtook Sainz and Bottas by tailgating Vettel
Tailgating is what made Mad Max crash into Grosjean. I was scared he was gonna misjudge it and end up in the back of Vettel… Now THAT would have ended in tears for him, but luckily he found a weaker prey…
Sainz did got a point in Monaco but was largely tossed into the lap, with all due respect. Sainz has overtaken only two manor’s the rest of the sites received by “needless pit stops -> nose replaced, unnecessary 3rd pitstop of ericsson, 3rd pitstop Bottas..Only 2 Manors overtaken.But he has my respect because it’s just a great talent too . Max spiced the match by overtaking Maldonado, Sainz and Bottas. Good for us as race fans as for the future sponsors.

As of now, Mad Max and Lonely Lewis are leading this poll and both messed up their races. So I voted for Sainz who only messed up his qualification but did a remarkable race from the pitlane. Nasr did a good job too, but it seems to have gone unnoticed.
I’d like to know how Merhi beat Stevens.
Gave it to Sainz, can´t understand how someone would be driver of the weekend when you miss judge relative speeds and crash, taking out both cars.
