Welcome to another week of TheJudge13 F1 Bar Exam.
Since John is still in the Savannah doing unspeakable things to/with lions, this week’s bar exam comes from the waterhole again.
Last week’s question(s): Can you name the driver, team, race and track where the photo was taken. Can you also name the car (type) and where the driver finished in the race?
The driver in question was of course the unforgettable F1 Reject extra-ordinaire, the one and only Jean-Deniz Délétraz. The picture was taken during the season closing 1994 Australian Grand Prix at the Adelaide street circuit. Baffling his team and opponents alike with his ability to drive an F1 car unbelievably slowly without stalling it or blowing the engine up due to reduced cooling. This was the last outing for the Larrousse LH94, propelled by the Ford HB V8 engine.
The Swiss slow-coach was so hopeless, he was being lapped for the first time after 10 laps and when he was put out of his misery by his disintegrating gear box on lap 57, he was unbevievable ten laps behind. Never since Délétraz has F1 seen the same level of ineptitude again and all the Chiltons and Erikssons of our time look like Senna in comparison.
Congratulations to Johnny Hotpants, toleman fan, cassius42, Roberto and milestone 11
Since the Hippo is completely hopeless at image editing, we’ll test our readers’ hostoric knowledge today with a couple of pub quiz questions. Enjoy 🙂
1. Which was the last race in which the three people on the podium were the only runners at the end. Who won the race and what was noteworthy about the second placed driver.
2. Who was the last F1 driver using an open-faced helmet.
3. Which Formula One World Champion raced in his native country, but both times not in an F1 car, while his son drove F1 in his home town?
