The #F1 Bar Exam: 22 August

Welcome to another week of Formula 1 trivia. Last week’s one seemed a bit tougher and we only had two correct answers.

Last week’s question(s): Can you name the year and circuit where the Formula 1 race in the picture was held and who won it? Can you also name the drivers of cars #12, #6 and #8.

The answer(s) I was looking for was: The 1934 French GP at Montlhéry was held on the road course section of the circuit, which included part of the oval. The 1934 race is considered a classic.

It was an epic battle between Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, and the new German power Auto Union. It was won by Luis Chiron in an Alfa Romeo. In the photo of the start of the 1934 race Chiron is getting the jump on the field. The lineup is Louis Chiron {#12} – Scuderia Ferrari Alfa Romeo Tipo B, Achille Varzi {#6} – Scuderia Ferrari Alfa Romeo Tipo B, Rudolf Caracciola {#8} – Mercedes-Benz W25, Rene Dreyfus {#18} – Bugatti T59, Hans Stuck {#4} – Auto Union A.

Well done to Cassius and Alonzo.

This week’s question: Can you name the year and circuit (which Grand Prix) and the driver of the car in the picture. Can you also name the car he was driving?

Please provide your answers in the field below.
