The answer(s) I was looking for was: the picture below was taken at the European Grand Prix of 1985, held at Brands Hatch on the October 6. The winner of the race was Nigel Mansell in his Williams-Honda FW10. It was the first win of his Formula 1 career.
Alain Prost, after just missing out in the previous two seasons, became France’s first world champion by finishing fourth. It was also his first (of four) World Championships.
