  1. 4. Would have been 3 if Vettel hadn’t won. Devoid of any overtaking or even attempted overtaking at the front. For the rest of the field it was simply a DRS race. What was once one of F1’s more challenging circuits – is now a joke with DRS.

    • There were a couple of pretty cool overtakes by Riciardo and Hamilton into turn one albeit on inferior cars, but performing what dirt trackers call a slide-job was alright.

  2. RedBull ruined the race! I was expecting a three way battle between Vettel, Verstappen, and Bottas. Instead, the top three spots are decided in the first turn, and Verstappen dropped back never being a factor.

  3. Once again the race wasn’t for the win, or the guy in a superior car starting from the back.
The best racing was mid pack.
Considering the relationship at Ferrari, I was quite happy to see Masa overtake Fred on the restart and hold him off.
For sure it was down to Mercedes over Honda power, but I still enjoyed it.

  4. I gave it a 9 but I’ll admit I was biased by the Ferrari win and two Ferraris on the podium! At least the top cars were all close meaning that if a driver used up too much of his tyres or got too low on fuel there was some possibility of attack…

I also enjoyed the mid-field battles, especially Massa finishing in front of Alonso and Perez.

Watching Lewis pass cars like they were standing still made the power of the Mercedes very obvious…there wasn’t even any challenge. After seeing him breeze pass Verstappen who will never give in without a fight did make me worry about Kimi, but in the end, Lewis never got close enough to even make Kimi feel he needed to drive defensively.
