Kimi Raikkonen: “We are all angry”

Reviewing the disappointing Grand Prix for the Scuderia at Silverstone, Kimi Raikkonen has encouraged Ferrari to keep working, believing that the results will come.

Kimi moved up to third place in the drivers’ championship courtesy of his fifth place finish, however Kimi was quick to point out that the team are only interested in winning.

“In terms of expecting more from the upcoming races, we are always expecting to do more,” Kimi tells Gazetta World. “Ferrari wants to win.

“That is the same for us drivers as well as everyone else in the team. To do that we must keep working just like we are doing now.”

Kimi has always been quick to suggest that the team should only focus on their own performances; he also alluded to the fact that he is happy with his own form. “We are not here to try to guess when we will be winners,” he added. “I want to repeat that we only need to keep working hard during the second part of the season, without worrying about the others and their performances.

“Obtaining third place only provides me with motivation to do better.”

With the Hungarian grand prix up next, it is clear that Kimi and Ferrari will be looking to deliver a strong performance to turn around their season as quickly as possible.

“We know the value of the Mercedes cars but we are serious and we focused on growing further for the future,” he concluded. “We are all angry and the next race will provide us with an opportunity to do even better and keep fighting to try and win.”

Ferrari have suffered this season in cooler temperatures. Next up is Budapest – and more often than not it is HOT.

So lets hope we see a resurgent Red Team re-joining the fight alongside Red Bull to take on Mercedes for the win.
