  1. I believe the latter half of the season delivered better races than the first half. Austin, Mexico and Abu Dhabi were good races.

    • Mexico was a good race? Abu Dhabi?

Middle part (or first part of second half) was better than first or last part tbh. And not just the races Ferrari won. UK, Hungary, Russia, USA. Additionally, Malaysia. And Singapore quali was quite exciting.

  2. 7. It was ok apart from the usual procession at the front and it was nice to see verstappen come across one of the old gaurd who put up a bit of resistance!

  3. The cars are fast. however the TV coverage does nothing much to enhance the spectacle. As the cars approach head on or driving away, the camera pans with them and the illusion is they are slow. More imaginative camera angles please. How about helmets cams? Also, why not fighter aircraft style Head Up Displays with more speed/G/gear info graphics. In think more can be done and stop just using the camera to focus solely on the sponsors Branding. I like slow mo action shots, similar to the type used to show the bikes during the Isle of Man TT.

  4. Meh.

    Still.

    Again.

MB wins another knife fight. With a gun. Because money.

Works teams are both lifeblood and neurotoxin to the sport. With them, we have high-end but boring ‘races’. Without them, we’d possibly have much better races that no-one cares about.

    Rock Hard Place.

Simply, I want the works teams in for their fat wallets and global brand awareness but I want them to lose.

Actually, I want the big teams to win *just* enough to prop up their saggy, overblown egos so they stay around (‘sup, RBR. Ciao, Ferrari).

And I want those legacy teams with winning histories to go on spending hundreds of millions on the chance at reliving old glories (Hello, Williams. You right, McLaren? Nice to see you again, Renault).

And as for MB, a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of F1, I look forward to when the plastic thingy that holds Niki’s cerebral six-pack together finally fails altogether and he gets the bug for radical honesty like Grandad on xmas day after rather too many glasses of port. Toto did what to Nico? ZWTFF??

  5. In the context of this (and last) season, 7. Above average, but not great.

In the context of the past 2-3 decades, 4. A few interesting things worth noting, but barely an average race. Not the drivers’ fault, as there were some good performances; simply the way the formula is at the moment.

  6. Alonso’s brainfart at the start and Bottas’s pit accident were the most exciting parts of the race….. You can fast forward all the other stuff. At 64x speed. At least the cars look faster that way.

  7. on bottas’ pit incident, did anyone notice how a piece of front wing went flying at high speed into the paddock club above? someone could have got seriously injured or killed. wonder how that will be handled or just swept under the rug.
