Another unpredictable GP has led to a mixed bag of results.  Here’s how they shape up…

On the Up

It was a good weekend for Somers GP, Team Baghetti and DWilD, up 22, 22 and 20 positions respectively.  All had picked Fernando to take the win, gaining 41% accuracy in their predictions.

However, this was totally eclipsed by the phenomenal performance from Scherzingers Rejects.  Having gained 21 places and up to 3^rd in the global league it was a performance to be reckoned with.  172 points meant a staggering 63% accuracy  to round off a commendable effort, well done.

One to Forget

A fair few teams had poor weekends.  Fake race control and RiffRaffF1 both lost 16 positions, whilst TJ13Racing lost 15.  I dropped 20 places with some poor selections which culminated in Vettel not setting a time in Q3. Although, it was Kolominos who dropped the most, down 21 positions.

Having backed the Red Bulls to score well, it was not a desired sight to see one of Mark Webber’s wheels rolling away from his car.

Nobody saw it coming

Daniel Ricciardo’s strong performance caught many people out.  A strong performance from the Torro Rosso driver to finally show why he thinks he should be the next Red Bull driver when Mark hangs up his gloves.

Another one which caught people unaware was Nico Rosberg retiring for the second time in 3 races.  Mercedes will need to work on this reliability issue if they want to support Hamilton or Rosberg in a push towards the WDC.  At least for Rosberg he is still close in the Victims of Circumstance league if any comfort can be taken in that.

Food for thought

Many teams are still picking Romain Grosjean for a decent finish.  It seems he is a completely different driver from the reckless one we saw last year.  After the success he had in Bahrain last year, getting home to 3^rd (amongst yet another debate over team orders) it will be interesting to see if he can recapture some of his pace from last year, as he definitely has the car underneath him.
