Horner’s opinion on coming Hamilton, Leclerc & Verstappen battle

While a great rivalry seems to be looming between the new generation and Lewis Hamilton, Christian Horner, the boss of the Red Bull team, has looked back on this upcoming battle.

The undisputed leader of Formula One, Lewis Hamilton will put his title back on the line this season. And the new generation seems more armed than ever to challenge him. Max Verstappen is particularly strong and is coming off an excellent season (3rd in the standings).

For his part, Charles Leclerc is taking control at Ferrari, and is on the way to becoming number 1 in his team. For Christian Horner, the boss at Red Bull Racing, the fight between this new generation and Lewis Hamilton should be intense and very interesting.

“Every once in a while there is a wave that comes along and I think that’s what’s happening right now.

“So I think the Max/Leclerc dynamic, in particular, is exciting, the way it’s going to happen in the years to come, the way Lewis will be able to go one-on-one with these guys.

“Because there’s still vitality in him, and I think he wants to compete with the young wave that’s coming.

“I think for Formula One it’s fantastic to have the dynamic between the young guys, the challengers, who are coming in and some of the old guys, who are veterans who know all the tricks,” said Christian Horner in an article reported by Motorsport.com.
