#TJ13 #F1 Courtroom Podcast: “You Want Me To Say Something”

Podcast

Brand new panelist in the shed this week as ace race previewer Chris “Catman” Turner joins the panel. Fortunately no fur gets ruffled in the process as Catman settles right in for the long record.

Queen V, the ever fabulous Vivian Bove, makes it 3 in a row and it must be said the lads are getting rather used to her shining presence in the shed. No worries as she puts them firmly in their place whenever they get out of hand (which, it must be said, is rather often).

It’s a short summer panel as Gum Flapper in Chief and hopeless Khan-trarian AJ rejoins the panel to share his inside information and slightly bent sense of humour. The ever present Mattpt55 makes it a foursome as the panel hits the first tee for a round of whack a rumour that always leads up to the last GP before the summer break.

Before plunging into the preview of the upcoming GP, however, the panel pause for a moment to share their thoughts and pay their respects to Jules Bianchi, whose passing this week has sent shock waves through the world of motorsport. Rest in Peace, Jules, you will be sorely missed and our thoughts are with your family at this time.

The Quiz this week is rather, ummm “unique” in it’s formulation. Find out whether or not you have what it takes to figure out what ‘Murican Google is autocompleting when it’s not busy driving autonomous cars.

The panel gets back to it by diving into the silly season headfirst, and amuses themselves endlessly by trying to figure out who would be best for the supposedly soon to be vacant second seat in Maranello. Let’s just say opinions differ. The panel also get deeper into the upcoming series that shall be known as F2, as details from last weeks WMSC meeting trickle out. Will it be a bang or a bust is the question on many a tongue (well, Ok, at least Trumpets) and the panel do their best to see the future.

Things are learned this week about the predictable nature of F1 as well as the many, many ways in which F1 makes life more expensive when they try to cut costs.

Thanks again to the Jury for providing an excellent stream of comments and facts. Or at least we think they did. Unfortunately with the absence of Spanners, we were unable to get Ustream running but hopefully we’ll have it sorted next week, so we’ll do better next time, Jury, we promise. Honest. Join @Mattpt55, AJ @ajhuntF1 , @catmanf1 and @VivianBove on Twitter where we sometimes talk about stuff. With Words.

  1. Matt, I live in the state of Washington, part of the US of A, and when I Googled “Johnny Herbert” I got the Wikipedia entry for Herbert, followed by endless links to Herbert’s racing career. WTF?

    Otherwise, good show.

    • It was a big yawn down in Oregon. Us ‘Mericans are being poorly represented.
