Verstappens’ heartfelt message about his fight with Leclerc

Since the start of the Formula 1 season, the battle has been raging between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. The Red Bull F1 driver has made a very interesting and heartfelt message about his fight with Leclerc.

With two victories to his name, Charles Leclerc is currently in first place in the world championship. But behind him, Max Verstappen is hanging on, having won 3 Grands Prix. The two drivers have been battling it out since the start of the season and the Monegasque and the Dutchman have been going head to head for some time now.

In their youth, Leclerc and Verstappen were pitted against each other in karting and this led to some clashes. Could we see a repeat of those moments this season in Formula 1? They had a famous clash in 2012 WSK Euro series karting (as seen below).

“I’ve known Charles for a very long time and I just like fighting with him on the track,” commented Verstappen.

The Dutchman spoke about the duel with Charles Leclerc that has been going on for several years now. The Red Bull driver explained:

“We do remember those incidents, and we can laugh about them now, because we were 14 years old at the time. That was 10 years ago, and now we are both in F1 fighting at the front. So I think we are in a good situation,

“I hope we will have many more battles this year. Of course, people create a rivalry to make it look exciting, but I’ve known Charles for a very long time, and I just like to fight with him on the track, have good races, and have fun.”

One response to “Verstappens’ heartfelt message about his fight with Leclerc

  1. The ill-tempered behaviour, politicking and tricks that the MB’s driver and team principal played last year left a very bitter taste in the mouth of legit F1 fans. That is why there was such celebration all over the world at the outcome of last years WDChampionship.

It is refreshing to see two young well-matched drivers fighting it out this year sportingly and good-naturedly. Weekends are such a joy now after the execrable low games played by MB to win at any cost.
