Vettel’s worrying announcement on his future

After a very difficult start to the season with Aston Martin Racing F1, German driver Sebastian Vettel has cast doubt on his future in Formula 1.

Sebastian Vettel has had a particularly complicated start to the season with Aston Martin. Positive for covid-19, he missed the first two rounds of the season. After only two Grand Prix contested so far with the British team, the results are far from satisfactory: one retirement and an 8th place. The new Aston Martin has not been a success, and seems to be wearing out the German driver, who is under contract until the end of 2022, and has been very evasive about his future in Formula 1.

Vettel has the impression “that he is not driving as well as he used to” and hints strongly this is the end for the German.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, the fifth race of the year, Sebastian Vettel said, “I haven’t made a decision about my future yet, but I’ve been spoiled because I’ve been able to be at the front, I know what it’s like, and it’s an incredible feeling,”

“With Aston Martin, it’s no secret that we wanted to be at the front, but we are now behind,

“I didn’t mind when I started, but finishing outside the top ten is not what I am here for. I want to win”, said the four-time world champion, who feels “I don’t drive as well as I used to”.
