Red Bull announce who they think will win this season

Red Bull’s motorsport advisor Helmut Marko believes there will be limited changes to the Formula One pecking order this season, but the Austrian believes Scuderia Ferrari could still win a race or two in the F1 season for 2022.

In 2021, Ferrari finished third in the constructors’ championship after a season in which the Italian team made great strides forward from 2020. The most dramatic progress came in the second half of the season when Ferrari introduced a new hybrid system on its SF21 that allowed both drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to become more competitive with their car.

Ferrari did not win a single race last year, but the Maranello-based team did manage two pole positions and five podiums in 22 races and, while he does not believe the hierarchy will be completely changed this year, Helmut Marko expects Ferrari to take another step forward in 2022: “I don’t think there will be any significant changes in the balance of power, but maybe Ferrari will take another step forward and win a race or two. “Marko told Autorevue.

“We hope that the grid will get closer in terms of performance, because fundamentally, in terms of pure speed, Verstappen and Hamilton were on top of the competition in 2021.”

The 2022 season will kick off on March 18 with the Bahrain Grand Prix, the first round of a calendar consisting of 23 Grands Prix.

  1. “Ferrari will win a race or two”. That was very condescending! I expect Ferrari to throw up more surprises.

  2. Obviously a “loose cannon” is not expected to know the difference between winning honestly and being a cheat! Winning by ‘ any means necessary’ is solely what counts!
