Verstappen at Mercedes? Red Bull: “can’t get much worse than that!”

Verstappen at Mercedes? Red Bull’s reaction – Max Verstappen has been with Red Bull Formula 1 team since 2016 and is not likely to change teams any time soon. According to Helmut Marko, a consultant with the Austrian F1 team, a move to Mercedes would be out of the question.

At just 24 years of age, Max Verstappen still has many years ahead of him in Formula 1. The Dutchman will defend his title in 2022 with Red Bull, where Verstappen has been driving since 2016.

Asked about the possibility of Max Verstappen one day defending the colours of Mercedes, Helmut Marko dismissed the possibility.

“I don’t think Max will go”

“I don’t think Max will go (to Mercedes). I think the events at Silverstone have made him less inclined to change teams, because Mercedes celebrated the victory after he was in hospital.

“And it can’t get much worse than that!

“Even though we saw that we certainly weren’t going to win a world championship with the Renault engine, he supported the team.

“We always told him openly what our plans were when we started working with Honda. He is also informed about other developments. That’s why I believe his statements that he feels very comfortable with us,” said Helmut Marko.

  1. “Events at Silverstone” – True, even I, till then a Hamilton fan, got so disgusted at the vulgar celebrations
that the scales fell from my eyes. I began to see the Frankensteins that people at MB are.

As if that was not enough, they and their fans still go on about “he turned into me”. With the sway that MB hold over them, FIA was toothless. Imagine turning up at Abu Dhabi with a very highly paid QC ready to cheat any competition. In conclusion, MB’s success has been completely unworthy and undeserved.

    • The video seen showed Max and Hamilton were beside each other at that corner with Hamilton owning the inside line, when Hamilton did not yield like he had done in prior races last year, Max decided to turn into him. Why he did that , only GOD knows. Did he think his car will simply drive over Hamilton’s with no consequence. Actually, Max really thought he could drive over Hamilton beacuase he subsequently did drive over Hamilton at Monza.
