Verstappen attacks Hamilton as ‘fake’

While Formula 1 is on break, Max Verstappen hasn’t and has sent a message to Lewis Hamilton about his activities away from the F1 Championship, describing his friends as ‘fake’.

The world of Formula 1 may be at a standstill due to the break, but the main protagonists are not taking a break. While waiting to return to the track, Max Verstappen is resting, and responding to the media.

With Lewis Hamilton now ahead of him in the overall standings, the Red Bull Racing driver will be looking to reclaim his throne. But before taking on the Englishman, Verstappen sent him a cryptic message about his “fake friendships”.

Max Verstappen criticised Lewis Hamilton’s socialising saying:

“I wouldn’t hang out with celebrities just for my social media profile.” describing Hamilton’s love of celebrity and his pursuit of the glitz and glam,

“With some famous people you can make a good connection and build a friendship, but I would only meet those I think are friends…

“I won’t call them “mates” if they are not mates, but just famous people. I want to spend time with my family and my real friends.”

Swords are drawn, ready for the next round of racing coming up in Spa, Belgium at the end of August.

  1. I understand the Dutch youngster is still angry but it’s time for him to man up and forget about making childish comments and concentrate on his driving as he is talented .

  2. This is such an old story and I can only assume that the lazy reporter could not be bothered to get out of bed to try and find something of interest to write.
The accuracy of the report is also in question, because you can only reclaim something you previously had and Max has never held the F1 crown, even if he one day might.

    • Please do not criticise the writer with your assumptions. Do you even know who ‘The Judge’ is on this piece? Unless you do, then please do not suggest they are lazy and can’t be bothered to get out of bed to try to find something of interest to write about. Having experienced not one but two bereavements recently, I can say with some authority, that life is not always as streightforward as keeping to a schedule for the entertainment of others.

      • I am sure I speak for everyone here (although probably not for warwickbarrett as “he” seems to be devoid of any sort of personality at all) in extending commiserations and condolences (we all know of loss so empathise – my brothers and I lost Mum in 2019, then 3 of my friends all decided killed themselves in quick succession in 2020, so yeah, totally understand – loss suck so feel ya)…..

        however

as the article was posted under the author of “The Judge” and not yourself, it is impossible to know in advance that is wasnt yourself who wrote it. Would you proffer that we all pre-empt who the real author of any article is, on the off chance of upsetting someone when criticising the article for being of crap material, with a crap, misleading headline for clickbait?

Back to the bigger subject again however – what I can say is that while the pain of loss never truly heals, it does ease with time, becoming instead a companion, a reminder of the person and the hole they have left

        • Thanks for your condolences. I am not trying to suggest you preempt authorship of any article, just that you have some awareness that these articles do take time and effort to write (regardless of how crap or otherwise the reader considers the content to be).The authour (whoever they may be), has to find both the time and effort to write these articles,.The time and effort required may not be freely available due to other, more pressing commitments.. p.s. perhaps you have time to spare and might consider writing for the website yourself? If so, please indicate your availability via this site and (I guess) someone will contact you about it? Many thanks and best wishes.

  3. That’s a shitty title.
Implying he calls Hamilton fake, while he is actually talking about fake friends.

    • and the active pursuit of fake friends for your social media gains isnt ‘fake’ in itself? 🤔

  4. Typical media twisting what was said just to cause shit.
Shame on the writers and journals for writing and posting this shite.

  5. There is some truth about Verstappen comment. Hamilton to many is narcistic and somebody must teach him how to speak properly.

  6. Okay. I finally give up with this blog. I’ve spent the last few months considering unsubscribing. Increasing amounts of utter nonsense and clickbait titles, lack of sources – just dreadful journalism on the whole – and the “inside whispers” before news stories hit the mainstream have all turned out to be false recently. It wasn’t always like this. You used to have your finger on the pulse. Now it’s just lazy rubbish. So why am I bothering to click those links, read this tosh and get annoyed with myself for bothering? Farewell. You need to up your game Judge.

  7. Hamilton a brainless assailed with a CHIP ON HIS PUNY WEAK RACIST SHOULDERS WHY HS HE MADE THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF BRINING RACE INTO IT INSREAD OF WORKING BEHIND THE SCENES. HE IS CAUSING MORE GATERED THAN POSITIVITY VY FORCING HIS INDERIOR CMPLEX UPON OTHERS BECAUSE HE DROVE A GOOD CAR AND IS NOT THE BEST F….ING DRIVER.ASSHOLE

  8. Max it’s about time you grew a pair and concentrate on your driving. When you have actually done what Lewis as achieved then and only then you can pass your stupid comments.

  9. I have followed F1 avidly for over 40 years, as such I’ve witnessed the behavior of many champions and all enjoyed huge fan bases. Most raced hard but were confident gentlemen who had little need to explain or justify their actions or titles. The few who constantly had to defend their actions were neither moral nor gentlemenly and needed to explain their actions mainly becaise their actions were seen as dubious, insincere, desperate, or weak. Hamilton uses his titles to promote worthy causes if he was a politician running for re-election yet has done little to improve F1 as a sport.
