Pérez reveals his difficulties at Red Bull

Sergio Pérez has been struggling to get to grips with his new Formula 1 car and the high demands of his new team this season. A complicated start to the F1 season, according to the Mexican.

For the first time in his career, Sergio Pérez, 31, is competing in a team that is aiming to win every race. The Mexican driver, who arrived at Red Bull this season, seems to be finding it difficult to adapt to his new situation.

Fifth in the overall standings, Max Verstappen’s team-mate is not at ease with his car and is still finding his feet. He, who praised Red Bull’s demands at the beginning of the season, must do better. Sergio Pérez recently spoke about the situation and is positive about the rest of the season.

Sergio Pérez knows that he will have to be patient in order to acclimatise 100% to his new car.

“I don’t feel at home in the car, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. There are tyre changes, wing changes, weather changes, and when you know a car by heart it’s very easy to adapt to these situations.

“I am not the only one who has difficulties with a new car. I haven’t forgotten how to do the job, but unfortunately it’s taking longer than I would like. ” said Sergio Pérez.

  1. Ultimately Perez is a pay driver who throughout his career has been able to leverage that to get what he wants. The only time he couldn’t do that was at McLaren where he lasted one season. And it looks like a repeat of his time at McLaren and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he’s gone from Red Bull at the end of this season. I can see Red Bull going after Russell if he doesn’t go to M-B for 2022.
