Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel was seen by several people – including the highly respected F1 photographer Mark Sutton – on Sunday evening after the British Grand Prix in the company of Racing Point team manager Otmar Szafnauer.
The four-time F1 world champion was seen getting into the passenger seat in Otmar Szafnauer’s Ferrari as he exited the circuit and the two men then set off for an unknown destination.
Nevertheless, caution should be taken reading too much into this, as it is known that the two men know each other very well and have always maintained a strong friendship for several years.
Rumours of Sebastian Vettel’s possible arrival at Aston Martin in 2021 have been swelling for several weeks, while the Ferrari driver was also seen in discussion with the owner of the Racing Point team, billionaire Lawrence Stroll, this weekend at Silverstone.
Sebastian Vettel will no longer be driving for Ferrari next year, after being fired by the Italian team earlier this year after five years [six at the end of 2020] at Maranello.
There are also whispers behind the scenes that Sebastian Vettel would replace Sergio Perez in the event of signing with Aston Martin in 2021, while Lance Stroll seems assured of staying in the team due to his family ties with Lawrence Stroll, his father.
