The alleged trickery is so complicated that FIA technicians will struggle to understand it, which also makes it difficult to prove.

Its becoming pathetic no one cared when merc was burning a shed load of oil now its Ferrari its an issue. No body cares that pareli brought a tyre that would help Mercedes but if they had brought one for Ferrari it would of been hand bags at dawn. Worst thing to ever happen in f1 was Mercedes joining.

The fact of the matter is the tyres were changed because of a request from M-B who definitely knew theirs would blister. Pirelli knew that the mediums could do a whole race and could have simply advised the teams to switch to them sooner or do a two-stopper. However, they decided to reduce the tread depth which at the time the decision was made benefited M-B over everyone else.
