Max Verstappen amazed most of us, entering the realm of F1 drivers at only 17.
He got entered for a couple of fridays, and started in the 2015 grid. It was clear this one was quick. It seems that the Force ran strong in this family, as his father Jos had given the world some amazing races.
Rumors quickly emerged of a secret powers, but it seems things came at a price. Jos had contacted Red Bull to get Max a seat. Helmut Marko tested quickly:
- Sensing the Force, and comparing lap-times
- Max’ way of accessing certain parts of the brain but being forced out
- Max ability to handle the Midi-chlorian count
The forces of Red Bull put him under pressure to perform extremely well. Secret recordings of talks of that begining were transcribed:
Max: I will not fight you.
Marko: Give yourself to the dark side. It is the only way you can save your countrymen. Yes, your thoughts betray you. Your feelings for them are strong. Especially for… your sister! So, you have a sister. Your feelings have now betrayed her too. Jos-Wan was wise to hide her from me. Now his failure is complete. If you will not turn to the dark side, then perhaps she will!
Max: NEVER!
Bernie: [laughing] Good! Your hate has made you powerful. Now, fulfill your destiny and take your father’s place at my side!
Max: Never. I’ll never turn to the Dark Side. You have failed, Your Highness. I am a F1 driver, like my father before me.
Bernie: So be it… F1 driver..!

Later Yoda was contracted to train Max. He commented:
“Yes, an F1 driver’s strength flows from the Force. But beware of the dark side. Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Jos-Wan’s apprentice.”
And yet that is what we have seen the last season: anger and agression. F1 fans love him for it, yet does it reveal Max has turned to the dark side? The orange league seems almost insisting that he does, and make it to a driver’s Championship.
We contacted Yoda for a final comment:
“Good chance Max will bring good entertainment to the world there is. Hmm. To become a worldchampion he might even make it, hmm ”
Will Carey-Wan make it happen?

Yeah. 2 podiums in 8 years of F1. I didn’t read any more after that.
Fair play to the author, generally it’s obvious there is no editing of a non-English speaker’s work and we all ‘allow’ the script.
But I’m fully with CR on this one. Jos stunned nobody. Lest anyone forget, his first team-mate was Michael Schumacher and the rest was history.
As to the Star Wars connection… even Harrison Ford refused to say some original lines that were written as they were so bad!

Jos stunned everybody with brains.
Easy to say, brains are not given out in the world equally.
