  1. In a boring race like today’s my vote goes to Lewis. It’s not his fault that he doesn’t even have to really drive at his or the car’s limit. But hope the rest of the season doesn’t continue like this

Certainly hope that rain would next time come during race not durIng quali. The race was mostly fixing a few bad rainy quali positions and a few lost positions during start. It looks like no matter how bad quali or start Merc has they can still easily take 1-2.

  2. Voted alonso. For not breaking his car against massa. And for bringing a podium to ferrari. But mainly a boring race.

  3. I went for Alonso, with an honourable mention for Lewis. Alonso seems able to drag 10% more performance out of a car that is lacking technically. Lewis was flawless, had the race totally in control. I think we can see why these 2 are considered the fastest around, shame Alonso hasn’t got the car to be up with Lewis! I also think Lewis has got to Nico, he has been pushing too hard to catch up and has made mistakes because of it, he looked totally dejected after the race.

    • While I agree with your reasoning, I voted for Hamilton, as his qualifying was outstanding, and the race a little dull.
Driver of the race was Alonso, though.

  4. Fastest all weekend, pole in the wet and a dominant untroubled race to the win. How can the driver of the weekend be anyone else?
Fernando was just “the best of the rest”.

    • Hulk ‘best of the Mercedes rest’ yet again..

If RB didn’t have a 20kph speed deficit (piling on the downforce to gain back time in the corners), it would be like 2007/8 with Ferrari/McLaren, just this time Mercedes/Red Bull. Ferrari have been relegated to the role of BMW, while McLaren are looking like the new Williams… they need to add some downforce fast! Barcelona next is also a heavy downforce circuit, with Monaco max as well. Bring on Montreal for them..

      • I think Merc have a 5mph advantage on Ferrari and Renault from the top speed stats at China.

  5. Driver of the day has to be Alonso for bringing his Ferrari to 3rd, especially after the bad weekend in Bahrain.

I only watched the second half of the race and it was boring for the neutrals, nothing ever happened. Hamilton did what he needed to do : sail off in the distance and control his pace from there. I liked that given I want him to have a right go at this year’s driver championship as this is his very best chance since 2008. So, boring race but happy outcome (for me at least).

  6. I was going to vote for either Lewis or Fernando, but went with Kamui instead. Holding off the Red Bull in a Caterham (with an inferior engine) says it all!

Your honour, could you somehow get the Fat Hippo to write some more bits? Maybe a Court order is needed..
