Paul di Resta – if only to see a smile on his face at last!
I voted for Alonso, really great drive from him and a great battle with Lewis to take 2nd. The win was never on for anyone else other than Vettel unfortunately.
After having slept on this question, it became clear to me that the driver of the weekend is Valtteri Bottas. First time on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, performed well in the Friday practices, then surprised the whole paddock with his incredible qualifying performance in the wet. On race day he drove hard and fair while wheel to wheel with cars capable of scoring points.
Do you hear that “ring, ring” sound? Bottas’ manager’s phone is receiving calls from teams, I suspect…
Can’t bring myself to vote… Anyone that had good practice/quali had a crappy race and vice versa, while others had mediocre both… Sorry, no standouts this weekend.
